This is a typographic
project about an urban
phenomenon in public
space: the chinese
character "chai" is
painted on houses in
chinese cities before
their demolishment.
Mandy Meissner and me
used the character in
order to build a house
as countermovement – a
memorial for the loss
of neighborhoods, tradi-
tions and memories.
